Guy Fawkes Competition
On Saturday 5th November some of Class 1S met at the Maldon fireworks to enter a Guy Fawkes competition.
In class we decided that we wanted our Guy to be a Pirate, because we loved learning about Pirates in our first week in Year 1.
Once we had decided, we worked together to create the Guy, by stuffing old newspaper into a paint suit. Then, we added some clothes, some hair, a hook and an eye-patch to the Guy.
When we arrived at the fireworks on Saturday we had to wait for the Mayor to arrive. He asked the children some questions about our Guy and then, not long after, announced that Wentworth Primary School had won! We were all so pleased!
It was a fantastic opportunity for the children, and a big thank you to Ruby, Reece, Luke, Lucas, Grace, Jack, Liam and Daniel for being so super on the night!
