Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic Viking Day on the 10th December.

Our day begin with making a Viking boat out of clay and the children had to weave the sail for their model out of paper.

After that, the children learned how to make yarn by spinning wool which they then made into a bracelet. They also found out how to crush berries and grass to make coloured dyes which they could use to write their names in Viking runes. It wasn't all hard work for the Vikings so the Year 3s also learned how to play a traditional Viking board game which Viking children would have played over 1000 years ago.

In the afternoon, the children made their own piece of Viking jewellery which would finish off the lovely outfits they wore for the day.
