School News

Today we had a visit from Rhiain Oakley, Tesco Maldon Community Champion, who presented us with a cheque for £1000 for being the winner of the January - March ‘Stronger Start Grant’.

Last Thursday an external Local Authority advisor/inspector visited Wentworth. She was given a tour of the school and had a chance to visit classrooms and meet with some of our pupils. We received some lovely feedback and are incredibly proud of our pupils and staff.

Last Sunday, Miss Ainscough and two of our pupils, Hanna and Harley, were invited to represent Wentworth at a civic service at St Mary’s Church.

Last Friday, Year 4 visited Colchester Castle as part of their History topic ‘Roman Britain’. The children were able to see the foundations of the Roman temple which once stood where the castle is today, made a round house and a Roman villa and even got to try virtual chariot racing in the Museum gallery.

Over the past few months, Mr Whitworth and his team of Year 6 Nature Club members have worked incredibly hard transforming our pond and wildlife area.
